Unlike other engines this engine does not have self adjusting valves. They have to be manually adjusted every 100-150K miles. Honda recommends 105K but in my experience around 150K is usually fine. It has nothing to do with the VCM problems that cause the piston rings to stick and cause oil fouling of the plugs.
